Du Bois Professor of the Humanities at Harvard.  A site rich with history and important cultural references. Art & Life in Africa Online - Presented by the University of Iowa. Particularly good are the 'Snapshots from Daily Life' and 'People Resources' sections.

Africa: The Art of a Continent - Hosted by the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Art information and photographs of artifacts organized and made accessible via a clickable map of Africa, connecting a particular styles and crafts to their regions of origin.
